Active Substance: Acetazolomide

Enzyme inhibitor which acts on carbonic anhydrase.


Pharmacological effect: Diazomid is a medicine from the class of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. The medication decreases the fluid pressure in the eyeball. It stops different nerve discharges that lead to seizures.

Usage: Diazomid is used in therapy of epilepsy, glaucoma and edema in combination with other drugs. It also prevents the mountain malady.

Aftereffect: Diazomid may bring different adverse effects. More usual reactions are: low appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, sickness in stomach, giddiness, weakness, nervousness, headache, reached sensitivity of the skin, changes of sugar level in blood, hearing problems and problems with vision. Abnormal reactions: allergic reactions, fever, unusual bleeding, side pain, tremors and irritations.

How to administer (optionally): The recommended dosage is two tablets two times a day. Take one tab after breakfast and the second before bedtime. Swallow it with a glass of water.
