Pharmacological effect: Asacol takes part of the group of drugs named aminosalicylates. It lowers the swelling in the colon. Asacol influences a substance in the organism that leads to infections, tissue disturbance and diarrhea.
Usage: Asacol treats moderate ulcerative colitis such as in children as in adults. It averts the symptoms of this disease from repeating. Asacol prevents diarrhea, rectal bleeding and stomach pain.
Aftereffect: More usual reactions are: stomach sickness, abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea and rectal bleeding. Abnormal reactions are: stomach convulsions, dull vision, giddiness, fever, aliphatic feeling, headache, heart disorders, nervousness, swelling, skin irritation, unusual weakness, pallid skin and back pain.
How to administer (optionally): Take Asacol with a glass of water. Use it 3 times per day regularly not regarding to food. Continue the therapy with Asacol until you start to feel better.
